Daily through Mar. 28 – 40 Days for Life

Christians throughout the Sacramento area will join over 150 communities in the national 40 Days for Life that started on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 17), an incredible time of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion and conversion of our nation!  Please join us in loving Christian ministry and prayer outside of Pregnancy Consultation Center abortion business, 53rd & F Street, in East Sacramento, where abortions are done through six months of pregnancy at a rate of up to 50 per week! Across the nation, over 2,000 mothers have chosen LIFE for their unborn child, due to our peaceful, prayerful presence and loving assistance! Compassionate information about post-abortion healing is also offered. Mar. 13 – “Healing the Hurts of Life”

Please join us Saturday March 13th at 6:00pm in St. Mary’s Church for a wonderful talk on “Healing the Hurts of Life” given by Rev. Dr. Thomas, C.M.I.  Registration is free, so please come join us!

Mar. 14 – Second Sunday Social

Join us after all morning masses in Giovanni Hall for our next Second Sunday Social hosted by ICF #45. Please come and enjoy some tasty treats while visiting with fellow members of St. Mary’s Parish. If you are part of a ministry or club at St. Mary’s that would like to host a Second Sunday Social, please contact Stephanie Epolite at 565-7433.

Mar. 20 – Crab Feed

Our next Crab Feed is March 20th at 6:00pm and tickets are $35.  You can purchase tickets by visiting the Parish rectory or call 452-0296.  For any others questions or to volunteer as a server please call the rectory at 452-0296. We hope to see you there!

Mar. 27 – St. Mary School Auction

The theme for this year’s auction is Greetings from Cape Cod… A White Linen Affair.  It’s an event designed to put you in a vacation state of mind.  Our wonderful live auction items include a week at a beach condo in Maui, a week at a Kissimee, Florida resort, five minutes from Disneyworld, a Wine Bottling Party where you’ll bottle your own private label wine… and much more! All are welcome to attend.  If you need an invitation, they are available in the vestibule of the church or you can print a new one at the school’s web siteDonations are still being accepted for the Auction.  Drop them off in the office anytime. Thank you!

Wednesdays of Lent (thru March 24) – The Interior Castle or The Seven Mansions

Written by St. Teresa of Avila is a journey of faith through seven stages, ending with union with God. A five week session begins February 24th and will continue thru March 24, 2010.  Classes will be given by Fr. James CMI, every Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm in St. Mary’s Church.

Fridays of Lent (thru March 26) – Lenten Soup Meal and Stations of the Cross

Each Friday of Lent at 6pm there is a “Lenten Soup Meal” for the Parish.  Join us in fellowship and then worship at the 7pm Stations of the Cross.  Bring a “To Go” container and take extra soup home. Anyone interested in helping serve for any of the weekly meals should contact Ben at 383-6155. 

Wednesdays thru May 26 - Bible Study

 “Acts:  The Spread of the Kingdom” with Jeff Cavins, the creator of the Great Adventure Bible Study System.  DVD presentations begin Wed. Jan. 6, 2010 through May 26, 2010.  Cost is $30 and includes workbook.  To register or for more info, please contact Leslie Thielen at 456-5908.

Formation of Neighborhood Prayer Groups

As we begin the Season of Lent we are planning to start prayer groups in and around our parish to help the people of God to have a more profound God experience. The members of the Pastoral Council have offered their support to begin the prayer groups. Those who are interested to support this spiritual movement for the spiritual renewal of our parish please contact Leslie Thielen, the new President of the Pastoral Council, at 456-5908.
